My call to adventure once again....
My own healing and recovery [2012-2014] following the immense uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis shined a light on the held feelings of disconnect, loss and fear of reoccurrence. I focused my uncertainty into visualizing and renewing my strength to be of service. My vision to volunteer with young children was actualized with a volunteer experience in India to serve in a Delhi pre-school. One of the most pivotal times in my life, I transformed my fear into possibility. It was an opportunity to reevaluate my way of living, how to move forward and coexist with struggle and gratitude; to see that fear is universal, and that building connections with others across the globe can deeply impact our broader vision of the world. We are SO much more the same than different.
I returned to adventure in 2014 with an invitation to co-guide a women's trip through Tuscany. What a blessing. As I continued to heal the emotional scars from cancer, I felt called to hike on my own over a historic route from Switzerland into Italy. I envisioned each step toward the summit of as a step toward healing. The overwhelming joy, inspiration and beauty at the pass expanded my vision to imagine unlimited possibilities. By listening to my heart and connecting with Spirit, this life affirming experience was truly a breakthrough from what's lost to what's POSSIBLE.
With the seed planted, I declared to create the Swiss Alps Adventures: 10 hikers, 10 days, 1 epic journey! Each summer as I walk the trail, I celebrate with the same enthusiasm as my first walk in 2014.
